Facebook Pages

With more businesses setting up business pages on Facebook, I’ve discovered many people are looking for help setting up customized tabs on their pages. With Facebook’s ever-changing systems and policies, along with their developer-oriented “jargon”, I understand the frustration business page owners have in getting a basic Welcome tab added to their Facebook page.

These are a few of the customized tabs I’ve created for other business pages on Facebook:

New! The following are the test Facebook tabs (recently approved and scheduled to go live very soon!) for Knowledge for Success. The Networking and Training tabs also show the use of Cascading Stylesheets when used with Facebook to create a visually appealing and dynamic Facebook tab.

  • Knowledge for Success Welcome Tab
  • Networking Tab
Example of “sub-pages” within a tab. The Tarrant County Business Breakfast and Women’s Table Talk links each stay on the same tab in Facebook to give more information for each one, then link back to the KFS site for more details.
  • Training Tab
I included both Programs and Training Workshops in one tab here, but again, thanks to sub-pages within the tab, could include more information for each one without making the tab look cluttered or forcing people to scroll forever to view more details.

A few things you should know about before starting the process.

  1. Customized tabs are for Business Pages only, not for Personal Profiles. All custom tabs are being removed from personal profiles by the end of 2010. If you’re unsure if you have a profile or a business page, please feel free to contact me to discuss it.
  2. You will need a website or image host to upload any images used in your custom tabs. They cannot be hosted on Facebook. If you don’t have a website, there’s no need to worry. Contact me and we can discuss alternative solutions for you.

As you can see, you can have more than one customized tab on your page. If you’d like to know more, I’ll be happy to consult with you about your own specific needs.

* Not available on Personal Profiles. We are in no way affiliated with Facebook and cannot guarantee changes made by Facebook will not affect Fanpage tabs in the future.
